Until today, our “client onboarding” at Six Figure Consulting looked like this:

  • Our Client filled out a form

  • We skimmed answers and moved manually on ClickUp

  • We manually think through GTM to do research

  • We create a doc on ClickUp

  • Send it days later

  • Follow-up to see if that was approved

That’s slow — and it kills our clients’ excitement of working with us and their momentum.

So we decided to rebuild this entire flow using Make to completely automate the onboarding and give our clients a seamless experience.

Now, the moment a client submits onboarding info, they get a fully structured GTM Strategy document within minutes.

Here’s how the system works 👇

The Core Idea

Turn raw onboarding inputs into:

  • A tailored GTM Strategy

  • A clean Google Doc

  • An instant client email

  • Internal Slack visibility

  • A ClickUp task for execution

No manual thinking. No copy-pasting. No delays.

Step 1: Google Sheets as the Trigger (Not Forms)

Instead of Google Forms, I use Google Sheets.

Why?

  • Easier to edit/extend fields

  • Clients or ops can paste data manually if needed

  • Works perfectly with CRM-style workflows

Trigger:
👉 Watch New Rows in a Google Sheet

Each row = one client onboarding submission.

Step 2: AI Does the GTM Thinking

Every new row is sent directly to an LLM (ChatGPT) with a fixed GTM framework.

The AI is instructed to output:

  • ICP & buyer persona

  • Value proposition

  • Recommended Intent Signals

  • Outbound Channels (email + LinkedIn)

  • Messaging angles

  • 30–60–90 day plan

  • Immediate next action items

This is the key mindset shift:

AI is not “writing content”
AI is executing a thinking framework

Step 3: Auto-Create the GTM Strategy Doc

The AI output is automatically written into a Google Doc, structured like a real consulting deliverable:

  • Clear sections

  • No fluff

  • Execution-focused

The document link is stored for downstream actions.

Step 4: Client Gets It Instantly

As soon as the doc is created:

  • Client receives an email with the GTM doc link

  • I’m CC’d for visibility

  • They’re asked to review & approve

From the client’s perspective, this feels premium and fast.

Step 5: Internal Ops Stay in Sync

At the same time:

  • A Slack notification is sent to the team

No one asks:

“Did we create the strategy yet?”

The system already did.

Why This Matters (Especially for Founders)

This isn’t about automation for fun.

It’s about:

  • Compressing onboarding time from days → minutes

  • Removing founder dependency from GTM planning

  • Delivering consistency across every client

  • Making your service feel engineered, not manual

If you run an agency, consultancy, or GTM service and you’re still doing this manually, you’re leaving leverage on the table.

The Bigger Lesson

AI works best when:

  • Inputs are structured

  • Frameworks are fixed

  • Outputs are immediately operational

Don’t ask AI to “be smart.”

Give it a job.
